Etz Haim Endowment Program

“Schechter is developing our children to become scholars and also the leaders who will sustain and fortify our Jewish community for years to come. By supporting the Schechter endowment, not only are we are making an investment in the future of our own children, but in the future of our entire community.”

Sarah and David Nanus
Current Parents, Grades 1, 4 and 6

Making a planned gift is a meaningful way to ensure the continuity of future generations of Jewish students at SSDS. Your gift to the endowment campaign may be funded through a real-time gift or pledge, as well as  through a bequest and other planned gift vehicle. Your generosity will be recognized on our Etz Haim donor wall outside our Head of School’s office, in our annual Community Celebration dinner journal and at all Etz Haim donor society events. Customized naming opportunities are available for real-time gifts of $100,000+ and major estate gifts.

A Named Fund provides the opportunity to make a gift that will have a lasting impact while recognizing your family, a teacher or honoring or memorializing a loved one. Groups or businesses can establish a Named Fund which publicizes their commitment to Solomon Schechter Day School and the future of Jewish Education.

Opportunities include Named Funds in these areas:

  • Student Scholarship to fund awards for academic excellence or financial need
  • Israel Experience Scholarships for students with financial need
  • Lower School Enrichment
  • Middle School Enrichment
  • Professional Development
  • Judaic Studies
  • Library Fund to help purchase books, subscriptions or special collections
  • Alumni Engagement Programs
  • Visiting Lecture Programs to fund visits by noted scholars or public figures
  • Campus Beautification to maintain and improve the internal and external campus environment

Thank you to our inaugural leadership donors
who have partnered with Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County
by investing today in our Endowment Fund.
